By downloading, installing, accessing, or using StarWhisper ("the Software" or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.

StarWhisper is a voice transcription software application that converts spoken audio into text. The Software offers:

Both Free and Pro tiers permit commercial use of transcriptions you create. You retain full ownership of your transcription output.

We do not collect, store, or claim any rights to your transcription content. When using local mode, your audio never leaves your device. When using cloud mode, your audio is processed by OpenAI and immediately deleted after transcription.
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account.
If you enable cloud transcription, your audio is processed by OpenAI. Your use of this feature is also subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use. OpenAI does not use API data for training purposes.
Account authentication is provided by Firebase. Your use is subject to Firebase Terms of Service.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's Terms.

We may release updates to the Software. Updates are optional and can be downloaded manually from our website. We do not force auto-updates. You may continue using your current version, though we recommend updating for security and feature improvements.
Current pricing is displayed on our website and in the application. We may change pricing at any time, but changes will not affect existing paid subscriptions until renewal.
We offer refunds in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws. For subscription plans, you may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period.
Lifetime licenses provide access for the operational lifetime of the current major version of StarWhisper. We make commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the Service but do not guarantee perpetual availability.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:
Transcription output should be reviewed for accuracy, especially for critical or professional use.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
Your use of the Software is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Software, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it. To delete your account, contact us at support@starwhisper.ai.
We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or in-app notification.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Zurich, Switzerland, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StarWhisper regarding use of the Software.
