Error Messages

"No microphone found"

What it means: StarWhisper cannot detect any audio input device

Solutions:

  1. Check physical connection (USB or 3.5mm jack)
  2. Try a different USB port
  3. For Bluetooth: Re-pair the device
  4. Open Windows Sound settings to verify microphone is detected
  5. Update audio drivers from manufacturer website

"Microphone permission denied"

What it means: Windows is blocking StarWhisper from accessing your microphone

Solutions:

  3. Find StarWhisper in the list and enable it
  4. Restart StarWhisper

Allow Prompt

When you first run StarWhisper, Windows will ask for microphone permission. Click "Allow" and check "Remember this choice."

"Microphone is being used by another application"

What it means: Another app has exclusive access to your microphone

Common culprits: Zoom, Teams, Discord, Skype, voice recorders

Solutions:

  1. Close all communication apps (Zoom, Teams, Discord)
